Transparent Studio: Dannielle Tegeder

Closing Reception: 1 March, 6 - 9 pm
Please join us for the closing reception of Transparent Studio with Dannielle Tegeder. The artist has utilized the gallery space as an open studio residency. During the residency, Dannielle reflected, researched, and created collaborative projects on ideas inherent in drawing and abstraction with invited artists, writers, poets, and friends. Artists included: Abraham Avnisan, Vincent Como, Jamie Graham, Amy Larimer, Caitlin Masley Jennifer Schmidt, and Orlando Ureña.
Thursday evening you will be able to see the works accomplished during this time and meet with the artists to discuss the process and experience. Throughout the closing reception, there will be an interactive performance in response to signature Constructivist works. The workroom will function as a dynamic space that merges the roles of the working studio, performance venue and exhibition space.
Since receiving her MFA in 1997 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Dannielle Tegeder’s work has been presented in over 100 solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally in Paris, Houston, Los Angeles, Berlin, Chicago, and New York. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions including MOMA/PS1, The New Museum, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, and Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Several of her drawings have recently been purchased as part of the Contemporary Drawing Collection at the Museum of Modern Art, and in the permanent collections of The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and The Weatherspoon Museum of Art in Greensboro, North Carolina. The artist currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
